General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Shipping
Many thanks for your interest in our publications. The following is a summary of the terms and conditions of sale and shipping which apply to your order from our online shop.
1. Applicability
The General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Shipping govern the relationship between you, as customer, and the Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education SKBF/CSRE. They set out our conditions of sale and shipping, and form an integral part of the sales contract. By placing their order, the customer agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Terms and conditions to the contrary when the order is placed apply only if they have been expressly recognised by us in writing.
2. How to order from the Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education SKBF/CSRE webshop
- On the webshop website, which is available in four languages, choose the products you wish to buy, and place them in your electronic basket.
- For your first order, as a new customer, you must enter your personal details.
- The billing address will generally be assumed to be the same as the delivery address. If the billing address and delivery address differ, please enter the desired delivery address separately.
- Check your order through once again on the order summary page, and then choose your payment method. In our webshop, you can opt to receive an invoice, or you can order using a credit card (MasterCard, Visa and the PostFinance Card). If your order contains an electronic publication, it is only possible to pay by credit card.
- Once you have completed your order, an order confirmation will be sent to the email account that you have given.
3. Prices
- All of the prices listed in the webshop are stated in Swiss francs and include 2.5% value-added tax.
- Postage, packaging and shipping costs are not included in the product sales price.
Mistakes, printing errors and price changes remain reserved.
4. Payment methods
The following payment methods can be used to pay for orders from the Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education webshop:
- In our webshop, you can opt to receive an invoice, or you can order using a credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard and the PostFinance Card.
- If your order contains an electronic publication, it is only possible to pay by credit card.
Invoices must be paid net within 30 days of the invoice date.
5. How we deliver within Switzerland and to Liechtenstein
- Provided a title is in stock, our printed publications will generally be delivered approximately five working days after we receive your order. You will be notified in writing or by telephone of any items which are unexpectedly unavailable.
- Regardless of the value of the order, postage and shipping on all deliveries within Switzerland and Liechtenstein is free of charge. Items are shipped free by second-class (‘B’) post.
- If you would like to receive your order faster, by first-class (‘A’) post, please note this during the ordering process. An additional CHF 2.00 per item is charged for this service.
- Naturally, orders for electronic items are free of postage and shipping charges, regardless of where they are ordered from.
- Swiss-based bookshops and libraries may purchase Education Reports at a preferential rate.
6. How we deliver abroad
- Delivery times for our printed publications to addresses abroad vary according to the address, and depend on the delivery service in the country in question.
- Postage and shipping for deliveries within the EU is charged at CHF 25.00 for the first publication and CHF 6.00 for each additional printed publication.
- Postage and shipping for deliveries outside the EU is charged on an as-incurred basis.
- Naturally, orders for electronic items are free of postage and shipping charges, regardless of where they are ordered from.
- Order address and delivery address in different countries: if the order address and the delivery address are in two different countries, your order will be charged on the terms which apply to the delivery address.
7. Liability and shipping/transport risk
The shipping/delivery agent (e.g. post office/forwarder) is essentially liable for damaged consignments. If inappropriate or damaging behaviour on the part of the shipper cannot be proven, SKBF/CSRE will assume liability for damage sustained during delivery, and will replace the damaged products as far as is possible.
The Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education bears no liability for damage caused by the purchaser handling the products inappropriately.
8. Reservation of title
Until the entire sum owed has been paid, the goods that have been delivered remain the property of the Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education SKBF/CSRE. We are entitled to have this reservation of ownership entered in the register of reservations of title at the purchaser's place of residence.
9. Cooling-off period/right of return
When exercising their right to a cooling-off period or to return goods, the customer is obliged to return goods undamaged, in their original packaging and accompanied by the delivery note, within ten days of receipt. The customer must pay the resulting postage costs.
10. Data and privacy
The Swiss Coordination Centre for Research in Education SKBF/CSRE undertakes to treat your personal data as confidential, and not to pass them on to third parties. We reserve the right to check that your details are correct and, under certain circumstances, to refuse to make a delivery. Further details can be found under the ‘Privacy’ menu item.
